Jeff Pocock, MBA, CPA, CBV
Partner
Jeff is a highly-accomplished mid-market M&A and corporate finance professional. For the past eight years, Jeff has served as the National M&A and Private Equity Leader at Grant Thornton LLP, developing and growing the practice to become national in scale, with over 100 professionals in 12 offices closing 20+ deals annually.
Jeff’s previous experience includes being a Founding Partner with Solaris Capital Advisors, and a Partner with Orenda Corporate Finance. In 2004, after the purchase of Orenda Corporate Finance by Ernst & Young, Jeff remained there as Senior Vice President and leader of the firm’s now Ernst & Young Orenda Corporate Finance, Private Equity team in Toronto.
At the start of his career, Jeff worked in the corporate finance group at KPMG for eight years, and then moved to RBC Dominion Securities (now RBC Capital Markets) to take on the roll as a Vice President in their M&A group. He earned his BA in Economics from Western University (Huron College), his MBA from the University of Toronto and holds the designations of Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator and Corporate Finance Professional. He has been involved in over 150 successful transactions, in many industries, making him one of the most experienced and successful private mid-market investment bankers in the country.
When Jeff isn’t on the golf course or spending time with his wife and two daughters, he serves on the board, and as co-founder of Bay Street Fore A Cause, a foundation made up of “Bay Streeters” raising money to support local kids-based charitable organizations. He also sits on the Advisory Board of Private Debt Partners, a Canadian private debt fund.
Thang Trinh, CPA

Thang Trinh is an accomplished finance executive with over 20 years of extensive hands-on experiences in strategic planning, business development, acquisitions, fundraising, financial/management reporting and compliance through wide-ranging, progressive roles.
Thang is currently the CFO and Co-founder of BookJane Inc., a Healthtech SaaS platform focused on optimizing internal staff usage in assisted living and memory care facilities and hospitals in US, Canada and the UK. Thang was instrumental in BookJane’s successful Seed and A Series raises which included both equity and convertible debt. Prior to BookJane, Thang was VP, FP&A of DH Corp., a multi-billion Fintech public company (acquired by Finastra), where he oversaw corporate FP&A including the acquisition and the integration of 9 companies ranging from $25M to $1.5B. Ellen Li, CPA, CFA
Finance Advisor
Ellen Li A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) since 2012 and a CFA Charterholder, Ellen is the Head of Finance & Accounting for AI Fund, where she oversees reporting, analytic, investor relations, financial modeling, valuation, compliance, tax, and payroll for the firm. Additionally, she supports early stage portfolio companies, helping them build a firm foundation for their finance and operations-related functions.
Ellen brings more than a decade of finance experience across the investment and private equity sectors, as well as the startup space. She joins AI Fund from a Boston-based healthtech startup where she was the CFO. Prior to that, she was the head of finance for the Private Equity division of Fengate Asset Management in Toronto with over $900m AUM. Ellen began her career at KPMG’s Financial Institution and Real Estate group.
Outside of finance, Ellen enjoys reading, staying active, and spending time with her husband and two daughters. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, she holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.

ANDY LE, CPA, CA, CFA
Partner & CFO
Andy Le serves as the partner and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Humble Enterprises, where he plays a pivotal role in overseeing finance, due diligence, portfolio company monitoring, and value creation. With a wealth of experience in roll-up and consolidation strategies, Andy utilizes his expertise in financial analysis, risk assessment, and strategic planning to identify synergies, streamline operations, and drive growth across various industries.
As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Andy brings his specialization in sourcing and structuring debt investments in non-traditional assets. This proficiency allows him to excel in identifying and capitalizing on unique financial opportunities, ensuring optimal outcomes for the companies he works with.
Having kickstarted his career at KPMG, Andy gained valuable experience in auditing financial institutions, solidifying his comprehensive understanding of financial analysis and risk assessment. During his tenure as the CFO of CTL Corp, Andy played an instrumental role in scaling the company's portfolio to an impressive $180 million, ultimately leading to its successful acquisition.
In addition to his responsibilities at Humble Enterprises and CTL Corp, Andy has demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit by founding and nurturing consumer finance companies. Through his adeptness in raising capital and providing strategic guidance, he has contributed to the success of these ventures. In 2021, Andy further expanded his entrepreneurial pursuits by establishing a specialty finance company based in Georgia.

SCOTT NEWHOUSE
Managing Partner
Scott Newhouse is an entrepreneur recognized as a top “out of the box” operations leader, with core strengths in organizational efficiency, growth strategy implementation and dynamic culture creation.
Prior to founding Humble Enterprises, Newhouse founded, built, and sold a number of firms; including.
CTL Corp, an indirect non-prime auto finance firm. As its President and COO, Newhouse was instrumental in building the platform and forming the team that grew the portfolio from $0 in 2010 to $180 million in 2015. CTL (now iA Auto Finance) was acquired by Industrial Alliance in 2015.
Harmony Management, a property management and cleaning services provider. As its President and CEO, Newhouse built the firm from 0 units in 2012 to 6,500, 35,000 hours of annual cleaning and $3.9 billion in real estate assets under management. Harmony was sold to Associa headquartered in Dallas, TX, the largest residential property management firm in North America.
S & S Properties Group, a real estate investment group specializing in multi-unit student residential properties. As Managing Partner, Newhouse grew the portfolio to over 80 units from 1998-2016, with multiple “build and flips” each year. Newhouse sold the majority of its holdings in 2016 to a London land developer.
Versara, a specialty finance firm focused in personal injury litigation financing. As a Partner in Versara, Newhouse helped develop a strong performing and sizeable book of loans. Versara was acquired by a private equity firm in 2016.
In 2017 Newhouse joined as a Partner at Massey Capital, a leading lower-mid market private equity firm in Toronto. Between 2017 and 2023 Massey acquired 15 companies and grew from $0 of revenue in 2017 to over $100million of annual revenues in 2023. Scott sold his equity position in 2023 to a leading Toronto Investment Management firm, together with other partners of Massey Capital.
Prior to the above companies, Newhouse was Vice President of FirstService Residential, Ontario (TSX:FSV). In this role, Newhouse was oversaw the management of 40,000+ units (asset value of $14 billion) in the Province of Ontario. In this role, Newhouse was instrumental in starting up the Residences of the Ritz Carlton, Toronto.
Newhouse sits on numerous boards, acting in capacities that range from General Manager to President. Newhouse is a graduate from University of Toronto and holds various designations from industry related colleges/universities.
